inside a BW65

Gentlemen, This thought stroke me last night when I could not sleep: I have been renovating a BW65 box 1 year ago. At that time I drained the gear fluid and did not refill it as I just wanted it as a spare. Now I wonder if there is anything inside the box that could be dammaged by not being constantly soaked in gear fluid? - The box is still on the floor so I do not know if it is working. Have I dammaged anything?? Regards, Chris Varming

It shouldn't be a problem if all of the seals had vaseline or ATF on them when you rebuilt the unit, it's sealed up, and it's not stored anywhere damp. If it's sealed up then just fill it with fluid to put your mind at rest, otherwise in time the seals will dry out.
