Indicator / side light problems

Well I have searched all the posts on here looking for an answer to a problem I have and come to a complete stand still!!
I am getting the old girl ready for an m.o.t but am having problems with the indicactors. So does anyone have a simple diagram of the set up
on the side lights.
What i am looking for is something that tells me what wires need earthing as it looks like someone has botched it all up at some point.
I have three wires on each light which are red green and black. Red goes to the side light and green and black to the indicator. Then a green and yellow wire going from one side of the car to the other which seems to be spliced into the red wires.
can anyone help.
Cheers.

usually the earth wire (black) suffers with corrosion at the lamp body and the lamp holders corode out of the body itself. Seen many bodges including bulb holders glued in, bulbw ith the wires soldered directly onto them etc. A quick fix I used to do when we were running them as everyday cars rather than preserved examples was to drill through the lamp body into the wing and put in a self taper to earth the thing.

Thank you for a quick responce!! That sounds like an easy fix I will try it and post back up what happend .

Thanks once again .

Well that has taken care of the indicators but the side lights still wont work! Does anyone know why there is a long yellow and green wire connecting them from one side
to the other.

Hi, that green/yellow wire is not Rovers. it is a previous owners mod/bodge.
I suspect there is a broken wire (red) in the loom or a lost connection and he
has run a pick up from the other side. So it is just a case of following the power
from the light switch.
