Whilst the excellent thread by Penguin on his airbox work is on everyone's minds I thought I would bump this old for sale advert.
This carb set up made 236bhp on my 4.6 engine, the car had no vices and gave good economy as I recall.
The only bits that are not there are the little cranked castings that fit on the carbs for the elbows to push on.
£275.00 +shipping.
Pair of SU HS8 carbs on manifold, with box of several needles. These when fitted to my 4.6 made 236bhp when used with cast manual exhaust manifolds. The cold start enrichment was by injected fuel into the existing AED stubs, supply taken from the return fuel pipe via a solenoid valve.
Cleared the bonnet OK on my car, and performed very well.
Airbox with modified enlarged intake and two new Montego filters for enhanced flow.
