how to find out when a car was made

Any 1 know how to find out when a car was made it was regestered 19/01/1973 i think theres a good chance it was made in 1972

i thought this for my mgb it was registered 26/4/1978 , the heritage certificate showed date of build 11/12 april 1978 and date of despatch 17 april 1978 , the problem for me is that i brought it to ireland before it was 30 yo but took it to be reregistered after it was 30 yo , they wanted 700 euro , i got it done for 50 in the end , good luck,rich

PM me your car model details and chassis number,and I will see what the list I have says!
BTW apparently no 2200's are tax exempt but they didnt come out till Oct 73
Its poss a 2000 could of had a 2200 engine and badges fitted at some point,making people think its a 2200!

Hi pilkie no worries was a car i was going to buy but i went to see it 450 mile round trip and it was too far gone for me
