Hi Folks

So I just bought a 1970 Rover 2000SC. It's 45 years old, but it's been looked after. The reg no is NXC843H. It starts well, it pulls like a train and it's just great fun.
At this point I guess I should disclose that I'm 65 and I have terminal cancer - hence the toy. It has a couple of issues - the brake light flashes on and off - and the rev counter and clock don't work. Apart from that, I love it!

Hi,

A Warm welcome! Sounds like a nice little project you have there.

Really sorry to hear about your battle with cancer.

Hope the car brings you plenty of enjoyment :)

Hi Tim, and a warm welcome to the forum! :)

Sorry to read of your cancer issue, but good to see you've decided to get a toy to play with. Take care though....these toys can become very addictive!

I'd be willing to bet a small amount of cash that the clock issue could be traced to a dodgy/oxidised bullet connector within the dash. Have a look there first, but if it does turn out to be the clock itself I've got a spare working Series 1 clock.

The brake light fault will have the benefit of discouraging tailgaters...but, if you want to sort it, it could be the switch itself needs changing. Again, I may have an (untested) S/H one but they'll be available new from Mark Gray or Wins. Could also be the handbrake switch, of course.

Whereabouts are you?

Cheers,

Stan
