Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me :)
I have recently had to clear out my uncles old garage, inside there were many classic car parts including some body panels, my friend has said to me that one panel seems to be from a Rover. I need to sell these parts so i can have my garage back! But I'm unsure exactly what model car they are from. hopefully i can add some pictures on here as there is no way i can describe them! I also have the front part of what looks like an old model A car I will try to add a picture of this too in hope that someone will know what it is. Thank you for any help in advance. Vicki

I agree - the rear wing is MG Midget / Austin Healey Sprite (not Frogeye) launch to '71. The front end has to be MG but i don't think it's a TD. The screen looks wrong as if it might have come out of a saloon. I think it's top hinged, which definitely wouldn't have been a sports body. If so it's a very small one, which would make it pre-war.

Fair call Chris, didn't see that. So possibly a '28-'33 18/80 then?

You've wetted my curiosity! I've been having a rummage around in the MG archives. I think I have a positive ID. I'm pretty certain the car is a 1934 to 1936 N Type. This was a miniature six cylinder of 1271cc (stretched from 1086cc!). I think it's an N rather than a TA because the louvres on the bonnet vertical faces seem to be vertical rather than inclined. I thought at first the screen pointed to it being an Airline! But on closer inspection I'm fairly sure it is a Tickford Coupe de Ville. At the worst as a standard sports it is extremely valuable. But the top edge of the screen looks as if it has been mounted from a surrounding body frame. If indeed it is a Tickford then you are in dial a number territory (even for just this front section). I do hope you've got some more of the car! I've popped a few photo grabs up below. I think both the Tickfords are TA's ('36 to '39), not quite sure about the black and white one. I can't find a picture of an N Type Tickford! To give you a clue as to these car's value, an ordinary sports bodied N Type seems to be about £40 - 50k, an Airline around £250k, so presumeably a Tickford would be somewhere in between!

Wow Thank you all so much for your time and effort! Thankyou for identifying the wing for me your help is much appreciated. :D
The windscreen with the front end does have a ring that you pull in the middle at the bottom so i would say the bottom is free to move? There are catches on the sides also, Oh also the passenger side bonnet panel has a like a teardrop bulge near the front if this means anything?
I do have what seems to be a convertible roof frame part made of wood and an engine part possibly for the same car too I will try to upload pictures. Thank you once again for all your help! For what its worth my first car was a Rover SD1 in red and I loved it! :D Regards, Vicki

Hmm, the roof frame could well be from the vintage MG but the large electric motor isn't an automotive part. It runs on mains voltage so it may have been a piece of workshop equipment at some point. Bench grinder perhaps? Compressor motor?
