Might be worth dropping the sump to double check that it was the offending item and not something else that was causing the problem!
I have had the Britool for 30 years and the chrome is still as good as new, I find I use it more since I got my p6JVY said:Your engine bay looks very nice and presentable. Love the torque wrench - Britool is quality stuff.

The sump is coming off to see what has dropped in, as you say its not worth taking the risk of damaging the engine.OrganDoctor said:While tightening up the timing chain guides and withdrawing my extension bar, the socket came off and fell into the sump. Not wanting to take a chance on a brand new engine, I did remove the sump and retrieve the socket.One less worry in the future
