hello all just picked up our 1968 p6 3500 auto, now the car isnt standard its all been smoothed and turned into a bit of a hot rod, the plan is to finish the modifications and make the car into a lovely interesting ca, the original plan was to restore to original spec but the work involved would be massive so we are sticking with the hot rod look, really thankful for finding this forum and look forward ot chatting with you all into the future

That sounds intriguing, how about uploading some pictures so that we can see it?

Welcome to the forum :D Plenty of eager folk here to help you on your way

Brian.

will upload some photos once we have finished removing all the terrible glue left over from a botched window tinting job but will hopefully have finished that by tonight (blue tinted windows what were they thinking!) off to its MOT at 2 wish us luck

Blue is a wonderfull colour but I am having trouble thinking what colour bodywork that would go with on a P6, I have a Honda Accord in the whitest of white (so white you dont need streetlights at night) And dark black tinted windows, every one of my customers thinks the Mafia just pulled up when I arrive (work car) and it looks real cool (wife hates it) but I can imagine the same combination on a P6B . Welcome I look forward to seeing your pics also.

Graeme

Welcome guys

Being a first time P6 owner since May this year I can happily say that this forum is a brilliant source of information on all apects of P6 ownership. They're.... sorry we're also a pretty friendly bunch. Love to see some pics of your car when you get the windows sorted.

Good Luck with the MOT

Dave

Car (aka Betsy) has passed her MOT. Photos to follow shortly as we have finally removed all of the sticky stuff apart from the rear window which is still blue and we're not sure the best way to tackle it!

Hi.... the car sounds interesting so I will look forward to seeing the photos.... good luck with your project :D

I think I have seen a modified P6 with blue tinted windows.

Look forward to the pics

Welcome aboard :)

hi is the car matt black think it was on ebay not long ago think it was blue b4 that guy painted it blue some video on youtube

thats the one its on youtube in blue and black, well the car is through its MOT has lost its blue tints, needs to have the exhuasts fixed as the custom made ones are blowing a little bit and are so low they clip on our driveway, taken the girl out for a run tonight to check her over and now she seems to be misfiring, wonder if it could be from the 95 octane fuel as we couldnt get 99 at the petrol station, hope so as don't fancy having to rebuild the heads already. tried to upload some pictures but wont let me presume they are too big! will try again later

yea i thought i new the car well i was speaking to the that had it painted black about the exhaust then he sold it to another guy yea that wot i am doing now with my 1969 v8 rebuild a 35k engine now new so its all go with that

the exhausts sound awesome apart from the occasional back fire but that might be linked to my other problems, we love the matte black rat rod look and plan on taking it much further to really make a little hot rod out of her but need to get the whole package sorted first then its onto 390cfm holley and upgraded suspension and god knows what else

yea i was speaking to ollie when he had it and said it had some work to it with the side exhaust and stuff

yeah before we bought her went all round looking for them after we found the first one,
well things are progressing well we have found a place to make us a custom stainless exhaust system, managed to pick up lovely new 390 holley on saturday along with a good condition second hand offenhauser manifold(plenum) just gotta work all the change over details then hopefully we will be seeing some nice performance increases
