Hi There, I finally managed to join the Forum, so I thought I'd say hi. I've been a member of the P6ROC for some time, having rebuilt my 3500 Auto from an unfinished restoration project back in 2002. Since the rebuild, she has covered over 6000 Miles and still drives like a new car, (compared to the 2000TC). I took the V8 to the SERR & Duxford Shows this year and enjoyed them immensely. The TC was bought in June as I was in need of a cheap daily driver, and as she is tax exempt, and I'm getting around 26 - 28 MPG out of her, she fits the bill nicely. I have several jobs to do on the TC, she has a very bad Clutch Judder, several suspension rattles and the Steering has a mind of its own but that's all part of the fun. Since buying this car I've covered 1400 Miles in it. The P5B was bought back in 1996 and at one time was a daily driver (when Petrol was much cheaper).... She has been in storage since 2003 and really needs a full restoration. I've started stripping panels off and replaced the Boot Lid but that's about all so far. This will be a long term project, when time and funds allow.
Are there any other P6ROC Members in the Sussex area? I live in Pound Hill (Crawley) and I'm always on the lookout for other P6's but never see any on the road any more (There was one just up the road from us, an L Reg Almond 2000TC "RYB141L" but that one has disappeared now). I'm also a Rover P5 Club Member and attend thier Regional Meetings at the Royal Coach in Shoreham on the second Wednesday of the Month.
Cheers
Mick
