Hello to one and all...

Hello there, I just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself... This weekend I purchased my 2nd P6 (does anybody know the whereabouts of my 1st? an S2 2000TC in Almond reg' no. KMH 909K...) a 1974 3500 auto' in Tobacco Brown with Black box-pleat nylon trim and Sundym Glass... It is splendid and a really honest example that was purchased from the legendary Coombs of Guildford when first registered... It needs a few bits doing to it to make it 100% to my liking but, so far, I'm infinitely happy with it... I'm in the Surrey area, are there any of you good people in the same area and do you ever meet up...? All the very best to you all, I look forward to my impending involvement with the club...

Hi Ash
You know I'm in Surrey, and am good for spares if things go wrong!

10 years ago there were several Club nights in the area, the one at Chobham being the strongest supported. All now gone I'm afraid as far as I'm aware.

I'm wondering whether perhaps we might start piggy backing a small Rover night on the back of the A60 Club meeting which occurs on second Mondays at Chessington - that would work. I often go in a P6 anyway - it's quite a thriving meet as most of those in attendance are retired or active banger racers.

I'll do some enquiries.

Cheers
Nick

That sounds like a top idea... It'd be good to put some faces to names etc and have a good chat about all things P6 and bringing two clubs together can only be a good thing for all concerned...

There's an 01483 phone number against the Surrey meeting details in the magazine but no name or location
As well as Chobham there was a meeting in Twickenham

Nick, didn't your mate George run the Chobham meeting ?

Keep me posted with any suggested venues , I'm up for it

It's been a while but I've finally managed to upload some pictures of my motor on my computer... I've had my 1974 P6 V8 for a good few months now & I love it... These are some pictures I took when I first purchased the car. One interesting fact is that it was originally purchased from Coombs of Guildford where the famous racing Mk2 Jaguars were prepared in the 1950's & 1960's... Anyhow, here's my slice of Sweeney era steel...

That looks very nice indeed! That badge bar on the front is notably rare and valuable.

Chris

It's a series two one as well, they do fit differently (the series two one doesn't interfere with the grille).

Ash has a lovely car. Well done that man.

We never got round to setting up a club night but I believe G'Kid was coming to the last Shepperton meeting so must be fairly local ? Maybe next time ?

Great pics there, she looks a real beaut Grifterkid.
I think the Tobacco leaf and Huntsman makes a lovely combo too, a touch of class!
