Heater - Motor

Can anyone tell me how to identify which heater motor I have? The parts catalogue lists two --- series-wound (part 601475) and magnet type (part 606582). I'd like to source one before removing the heater.

My car is a UK-spec 1974 3500 automatic, chassis suffix E.

Are these two motors interchangeable?
