Hi everyone.
My name is Keith and I'm from Ireland! I've recently become the proud owner of
A 1972 Rover P6 3500s in Monza Red. I'm more into the Mini scene but my dad had a
Monza Red 73 S back when I was a kid and I've always loved them. The smell inside and
sound of the indicators transports me back to my childhood plus how the seats used to burn
the legs off me in the summer on Sunday drives!

I bought the car by auction as the car seems to of lived most of its life in Southern UK. There are
around 69k on the clock and he's a credit it the previous owners. Beautiful condition and obviously
well looked after. It also came with a wonderful folder of receipts and mots dating back to 1985!
I wonder does anyone on here know the car? Would be nice to know more history.

Not much to do to it other than fit an electronic fuel pump as current one is not filling the reservoir
Or feeding to the carbs and so starving them, fix relay on wipers oh and some Lucas spots for the front.

I have been on here a lot recently and happy now to sign up now I have the car. This forum is a wealth of information with a friendly vibe.

Here's the car! And two pics of my other pride and joy. 1983 Replica Morris Cooper S

Geez that looks nice - Good score .
The fuel filter doesn't fill up - well at least mine doesn't and she runs fine . My filter is set on the horizontal and sits under the left bank of the carb.

We were finding that it runs fine until it's on a incline and then the carbs aren't getting enough fuel.
Pump wasn't strong enough to pump from tank up to the engine. Found out when disconnected the pipe and turned the car over and nothing came out but when we moved the car to a level ground or high in back it came through fine. Mechanical pump just worn out. Time to go Electronic.

Hi Keith,

Welcome to the forum :)

That is without doubt a very lovely Rover that you have there, top looking Mini too!!

You'll probably find that the fuel pump main diaphragm is in need of replacement. Kits are available, and once installed your Rover will go just like new.

All the best,
Ron.

Hello Keith, two lovely looking cars you have there, no doubt they compliment each other well. (I rather like the green Mini van in the first photo too).
There have been quite a few posts about fixing the wiper delay. Try the search tool at the top to find them.

Welcome Keith, well done on buying a P6. I recognise your Mini from the IMOC. I remember talking to your Dad many years ago about his Rover
