German P6 V8 - approx. 23.500 GBP

Good
"bout time P6 got the kudos and value they hold.
Bloody Falcons and Holdens get more $'s than P6 down here.
P6 is totally under valued for what they are
Shame we are in a recession

The whole world is in recession

143BHP, so it's a 3500 automatic. Can you translate anything please Rudiger - is there a reason for such a high price?

It's a beautiful example. I'm just not sure that it's €27,500 worth of beautiful.

I'd be interested to know if anyone ends up paying that for it.

Did anyone else notice that the formica strips in the doors and dash have been lacquered, that make them look a bit more appealing.

Car restored, many new parts - I think currently she´s really the best P6 3500 Series 2 in Germany.

For German market the price is not realistic - but for the "worth".

The formica trims have been replaced by Macassa tropical wood veneer. It looks like a very well kept example, but that is certainly very strong money indeed.

Yes. I quite the extra depth the laquer gives them. Might even get around to trying something like that myslef one day. I reckon you would need several coats to get a finish like that.

Supply and demand, so many of these survive that only the very top examples fetch the bucks
The NZ perception of these, even when new, was the P6 was a car you owned if you couldn't afford a Jag.
V8 fans aren't into these 'cos they're not American or Australian ( wrong badge )

I think I'll have a bash it in the week, I've got a broken bit of formica trim and some lacquer left over from when I painted my wheels the other week. Lots of thin coats I think.

With regard to prices, they're stuck in a 'not very desirable or cool' limbo between the tunable, sporty cars and luxury stuff like the P5 and Jaguars. Having said that, 70's XJ6's aren't worth that much compared to a Mk2 or such like either.

I notice from the photos on the link Rüdiger provided that it was originally a Swiss export model, and is equipped with dual circuit brakes. Was dual circuit braking standard for Switzerland because of the mountainous terrain? :?:
