has any1 brought the top and bottom end gasket sets off ebay and are thay any good i dont want to buy rubbish an waste my money ?

That's the company "Gaskets for Classics" who remanufacture gaskets for all classic cars.

I believe they have a good reputation.

I've not needed to use Gaskets for Classics yet, 'cos of my own spares supply, but I'd go for one of these brand new sets any day. I've bought apparent NOS items before and found that the reason they've been stood on a shelf for so long, is a couple of items have been pilfered over the years and the set is no longer complete.

I've used them too, all good stuff. Once upon a time (are you sitting comfortably?) a slightly odd Meadows 4ED I built for work didn't like a head gasket from a set of theirs but that was 100% down to the engine having been messed about with and sometimes those Meadows are a finicky little bujjer anyway. So given their usual success rate if anyone says that they've had problems I'd be reasonably happy to say that it would be down to the engine and not the gaskets themselves.

They're pretty good prices too, bottom end sets can be really expensive, and most "modern" head gasket sets are £50+

Let us know what they're like. I'm rebuilding mine in a few weeks so am after a decent gasket set.

Good luck!!
Michael
