Fuel sender unit and reserve tap o-ring

had my own issues with fuel gauge .I removed unit and found corrosion so clean dup and tested on bench. refitted with new seal and locking ring ( wIns) . fitted teh inline fuel filter ( as shown above by another post) .fuel filter is god send . also shows when I have poor fuel ..? as gas bubbles as shown when pumping fuel /running until fresh fuel is pushed into carbs. fitted new O ring in the very inaccessible ( v8) inner wing area. no leaks or issues but was unable to fit cable for 'fuel reserve ' despite looking at workshop book etc it seems impossible to work out hwo to get cable to fit to lever . too short? wrong angle etc . so apart from NO reserve all is well though I dare not run car down too low on fuel as I can't use reserve !

FWIW I managed half way reasonable access to the reserve thing by removing the starter motor. The lever should move 90 degrees, from horizontal pointing forward , to point straight down in reserve.

sounds good. not sure what direction my lever is in but I think it only went in one way anyway so as to fit the locking screw. not used as I can't fit cable despite workshop manual showing it fitted form bulkhead to rad direction.
