How far will the car get me when the reserve is pulled out? It ran out this morning on the way to work, its only 5 miles each way, but all stop start town driving! Will it get me home again?

I always thought it was about 1 gallon.
Not sure where I got that from, but I'm sure I read it somewhere - so should get you to a petrol station easily.

Hmmm..that might be a problem then...as i dont get paid tilll tomorrow, and am running this car on a shoestring! LoL! Ah well, should be an entertaining journey home!

Will you see the needle on the fuel guage move when you pull the reserve tap...?! It's just that on both the P6's I've owned/own the fuel reserve doesn't seem to work...

Guage stays the same as it's the same tank, just from a longer pipe
I use reserve all the time, not as in permanently, as in when it gets to running on three then two cylinders I pull it on and get fuel sharpish. That way you know the tap will always work when you need it. When not used much they sometimes expire when you need them and leak more than they feed to the carbs :)
You can tell I am lazy and don't like buying fuel every five minutes and get the most from a fill

It is just a longer pipe inside the tank, so you won't see the gauge move.. I always found it to be a good idea to use the reserve line every few weeks just to make sure that you don't have anything clogged up for when you actually need to use it.
