fuel mixture

Hi im trying to get the engine to run better , but when i remove the plugs there there wet and black, ive been told the mixture is to strong, ive read the books and it shows a mixture screw next to the throatle screw i cant see this at all anybody any ideas on were or how a turn the mixture down

the car ran fine and as just started this problem and im not that good at engine stuff but would like to sort it myself before i go to garage

Don't forget to check everything else in order before the carbs as plug gaps, dwell, timing and air filters alter the mixture.
Saves doing the carbs twice :wink:
 
Hi sorry its a 2000 sc i will post pics wen i get home, i dont know what carb it is hope you can tell me when ive posted pics on

if its the later type screw on the side then buy some decent gloves, on the p6 its pretty much impossible to not burn your fingers on the exhaust pipe!!!!
 
Hi all i will have ago tomorrow and see if i can sort it, i have alot of spare carbs so i my well rebuild one and then i will know that its in good order. thanks very much for your help

hi all thanks for your help ive now got rosie running , i changed the plugs and ht leads and reduced the fuel mixture, she starts great now still little bit rough idle thou, so i mite change the carb for a new one
