If you have Gaz shocks on the front then they will rattle. The aftermarket brigade use a different mounting to the Rover original. The Rover mounting uses two rubber conical rubber bushes that are compressed tightly in a double conical mount on the ends of the shock absorber, the bushes are compressed by putting the split pin in the inner hole of the mounting pin on the lower end, and by tightening a nut on the upper end.
After market shocks use a parallel mount with a steel sleeve, there is no way to make this mount tight on the pin, they rattle and will drive you nuts.
I cured the problem on my AVO shocks by cutting off the mounts, and then welding on the proper mounts cut from a set of old front dampers and returning to the OEM conical rubber mounts.
I have a set of old dampers for sale with the correct mounts that I saved for this purpose.
