Front bumper - 2000 fits 3500?

Hi everybody,

Can anyone tell me if a Rover P6 2000 front bumper fits a P6V8? I suspect that the deeper radiator bulge on the V8 means that the four cylinder front bumper will not fit a V8 --- am I right? If it does actually fit straight on, will I be able to use my existing overriders on the replacement (i.e. does it have the same profile)?

John Larkin.

As far as I know the 3500 front bumper is different. There is a 'cut-away' section out of the underside, to clear the bigger valance of the V8s, as you suspected. I think the overriders are common though.

Hi John,

Alasdair is correct and they are not the exactly the same.

The enlarged V8 air intake means the bumper has a section cut out. also there is only two fixing point where the 4 cyl has four.

If you compare them both it is quite obvious. If you had a V8 bumper then you could fit to a 4cyl but you would need to double check the mounting points. I am sure the outer ones are in the same place.

It isn't impossible to make 4 cyl bumper fit a v8. But you would need to cut a bit out of the bottom and rechrome it.

hi,
the overriders are the same profile though on both the 4 cyl and V8 bumpers. and just in case anyone wants to know the rear bumper fits all models.
