Fitting wires - need info

Assuming the weather cools off a little bit, (it's been into the 90s for the last few days) this weekend is being given over to sorting out wheels between the two cars so that the neighbours don't have to deal with a tatty old Rover sitting up on axle stands in the front yard when the existing alloy wheels go to their new owner.

As I mentioned a while back I have a full set of set of 5 wire wheels from a TC along with their hubs and new bearings which I want to fit to one of the cars . I'm aware of the concerns about using wires on a V8, but I do know of at least two V8s where this has been done without apparent problems.

It looks as if the conversion is pretty straightforward, but what I don't have are pre load settings, diagrams or a workshop manual that show the fitting of the hubs.I'd be eternally grateful for any tips, pointers cautions or just general good ideas before I get stuck in

Thanks

I object! Give me the wheels instead!

BTW, how do you balance wire wheels? Bicycle wires invariably go skew/loose after a while, and must be tightened up (hassle). Wouldn't you have to do this on car wires as well?

I had wires on a daimler/jag 420 with pas .
I was forever having spokes breaking ,often with the broken piece puncturing the tyres-something to consider
I ended up selling the problem to someone else who was in love with wires
