Exhaust manifold

Hi,

Anyone know of anywhere in Essex or nearby that can repair my exhaust manifold?
I wrapped mine 2 years ago in heat wrap, this may have been a mistake as I took it off yesterday to investigate a blow and have found it has corroded underneath, and has rusted through in 2 places...
Just trying to work out whether best to repair or replace

Damn,
Wish i'd seen that first, should have paid more attention to this forum!
Mine now looks like it has spent some time at the bottom of the sea rather than the red painted item (heat proof paint) that I bolted on 2 years ago freshly wrapped.
Very surprised how quickly it has decomposed, compared with relatively low miles.
Now weighing up options of repair, replace in steel no wrap or replace in SS with wrap, will busy myself with valve clearances until I make my mind up......

By the way, thanks for the brake caliper, front hubs overhaul, bearing replacement, disc skimming, backplate replacement on one side and caliper was last weekend's job.
Brakes and bearings are now silent, unlike the bloody exhaust!!

You're welcome.

I'm still in two minds whether to re-wrap when I get the current cracked manifold repaired/replaced. I think despite other peoples experiences, it does have an effect on the metal & more than likely, age comes into it.

I see from that post that the flexi-section option was suggested way back then. It's definitely something I'm now considering though not as mentioned, welding it directly to the manifold.

If I go the stainless route I would wrap again, otherwise no I think. I did it to aid noise/heat etc, thought it would be a good idea!
Meant to say earlier that I have the gearbox/bell housing bracket fitted which are often missing. It is very substantial and I was lucky enough to find it in a box of spares.

Wouldn't instead of wraping up completely the manifold, covering it up with one of those "blankets" be a good compromise?
