Engine mounts

Hi everybody gone ask a stupid question when you have put the engine mounts in place doze the engine need tho be leveld ? How should I do this , On photos it always looks like the airbox Tilt slightly to the left . Is this correct . Thanks a lot for your reactions the best forum for p6 owners .

as far as aware engine ought to be level ( airbox) but have noted as you comment that almost all ( including mine) are sloping to left ( viewed with bonnet up from radiator) . this is possibly normal after a while as mounts age and torque on engine affects rubber mounts plus reaction bar stays same position it makes sense that some leaning to left will occur. real issue is when to correct ? will be doing mine this year .well trying to get level at least as I think it is putting extra strain on linkage to carb from bulkhead. ( not fully inline)

A lot of the time that's because the air cleaner housings aren't mounted on the pins properly.

thanks for that Harvey :) been meaning to change this mount for a while but having trouble plucking up the courage knowing my back will suffer for 2 weeks after I do the deed.

my air box is def located correctly as that was first thing I checked . engine itself is leaning to one side so likely weak .failed engine mount or misalined steady bar . own opinion after good look at things ( my first rover so not a expert) is if I raise offside ( replace mount?) both engine will settle level AND it will bring inline the throttle linkage. on that basis will be looking to get a replacement mount for offside at least next time i visit kent. ( Wins international) where i get most of my spares.

Don´t forget to change the rubbers from the engine steady bar. My engine mounts look ok, but the steady bars are in very bad condition. Will change both, got everything from Geoff. For steady bar he offers standard rubber and PU.
As typical German I ordered the cheaper ones.
With headers off and radiator out access is fine :)
