Anyone go to Enfield? Only saw one 3500S inside the main marquee, outside it on the Saturday. Had the P5B, 110 & Cheltenham over there & stuck it out 'til Monday. Absolutely bucketed down on Sunday & Monday, windy too but I managed to spend all my money.......whew! :D
Shame because it's a really good event with the weather on your side & that's 2 washouts in a row.

Hi "Rovering Member" - that always sounds rude to me - must be my mind!! :D
We went on Saturday and as it turned out we were very lucky - we thought it was miserable then but felt really sorry for anyone around on sunday / monday. I feel so sorry for the organisers as there must be one hell of a lot of work involved.
We were happy though as we got a straight rear bumper to replace our one that got twisted by a crash and run person whilst parked outside a friends house not so long ago. also got a pretty good front bumper purely to make her shine a bit better at the Crich Meet.
Cheers

Keep your mind off the "duble entendres' " as befits a Rover driver, it's a perfectly respectable handle. :D My Father used to be in the Daimler/Lanchester OC & the magazine was called "The Driving member" which is where I coined it from. The roads are actually awash with driving 'members' but we won't go there.
Yes, it must be a blow (stop it!!) to the organisers as the financial costs go up (re-instating the damaged ground) & the paying public stay away. Also a couple of things were missing, namely the Car corral & the beer tent (due to some trouble last year). They didn't even have the communal marquee where everyone goes in the evenings to have a drink & listen to the band. This is a big mistake in my opinion as it's well attended normally. Even if they don't have a bar people can take their own. I always do as they don't serve real ale. The wall of death was also missing & the old fish'n'chip coach which was also a focus of the Morons who caused the trouble last year. Not sure if it was burnt out or they're just staying away. I've got a nasty feeling the best years of Enfield are behind us but I hope I'm wrong.

It's such a shame a mindless few spoil things for the majority. Mind you I never imagined the Classic Car crowd to be rowdy!
It must have been pretty bleak for anyone camping / caravaning over the weekend if there was no communal entertainment to take your mind off the weather!

Mind you, thinking of Caravanning - did you see the old camper van on the display field - I've forgotten what chassis it was on (Commer van?) but it was pale green and immaculate. A lovely bit of work and a real practical classic!

There was also a guy I chatted to who had a NSU RO80 he had converted to a 2 door convertible with Mazda rotary. A lovely job. THe work had been done a number of years ago and it still looked like a factory job. He was looking to sell at a very reasonable price but the missus saw the look in my eyes and I inturn saw the look of hers!! She seems to think I have enough toys!

But that's the fun of these shows - you never know what you are going to stumble on that impresses and takes the imagination.

Cheers

I spent most of my time in the autojumble so didn't see many cars & when the rain started there weren't many cars to look at.
Enfield was where the fish'n'chip coach went up in flames & as far as I know it was deliberately started. I didn't know if it was totally destroyed. Pity the Morons weren't in it.....
