eBay stunner!

Nice looking car.....

....but....

it has a 3500S badge on the back and is an auto, it has NADA bonnet scoops but nothing under the bonnet for them to feed

It just looks too pristine for me. There's no character to it.

Dave

The Candy Red 3500 does look very nice. Interior looks cracking and I think the colour suits it. The seller says it c/w standard bonnet in same colour if NADA scoops aren't your thing. I guess I'm a bit wary of scoops that don't serve any practical function (reckon the fake side scoops spoiled the Mk1 Ford Capri a bit). In no way am I detracting from NADA cars but I sometimes wonder if Rover/BL just thought, "we'll just stick a scoop (or three!) on the bonnet to "Americanise" the P6 :) . Pricey though! I'd be kind of surprised if it sells for that price?

TBH, the nice low mileage '66 2000 tugs at my heart strings more. Something very pure and simple about an S1 2000SC (especially in white) that I like :) .

It's a very nice car, and obviously well restored, but they're asking for way too much. It might make the 10k mark, but not 15k.

I like the colour, and the NADA add-ons.. although if they imported so much from a NADA car, why not go the whole hog and fit aircon and electric windows, or buy the white car from Rover Classics and convert that to RHD?

Genuine car for anyone with an interest in a series 1 - some surface rust but known rot spots in very sound condition
for age. Car sags very slightly to near side, shock absorbers work but weak.

White paintwork, flaking in small places, but not due to rust underneath, lack of proper prep likely cause.

Additional pictures to listing.

That sort of seller always bothers me. No matter what location the car is actually being sold from, that technique smacks of dealer with a capital D for "dodgy"! A dealer operating on Ebay as a private individual is always a red alert for all sorts of scams in my book.

I think I would want to see the bloke in question eye to eye before I actually bought a car from a source that was doing that sort of thing. And I'd probably want to do an ownership check and HP check on it too.

Didn't MJP6B go and have a look at this car? Perhaps have a long chat with him before I bid on it.

Chris

He told me it didn't reach what he says the car was worth so he has delisted it. He wants around the 3k mark for it.

Any car is only worth what you can get a buyer to pay for it!
Just because it has low mileage doesnt make it worth more, but dealers never think like that!!
This one was bid up to £1550 ,probably by his mate bidding it up,so it didnt get sold for less than he wanted for it!!
So any P6 savvy genuine bidders amongst them stopped when they thought it too expensive!!
Considering what has been said about it by MJP6B,and the pics he provided, its a good solid car that needs lots of TLC to bring it up to that sort of value, like a s/s exh very soon,a full respray and a good underbonnet tidy up,thats a good £2-3k worth of work easy!
