A couple of dumb questions

1. My car has a heated rear windscreen fitted, but where is the switch?

2. Above the speedometer (ribbon type) there are the numbers 1, 2 and 3 written in yellow circles above 30, 50 and.80mph. What do they signify?

3. My wipers work but dont park and the delay doesn't work, any ideas what the problem is?

Car is a 76 2200sc

Thanks folks!

Recommended speed in each gear, ie 1st, 2nd etc. It assumes, of course, that the speedo is accurate!

And if you want a con rod exiting stage left.... Think I'll keep well away from them!

Thanks though, that's cleared it up

1: On the dash, right of the steering wheel. Either a pull switch with a light or an illuminated rocker, depending on the year.
Ive got 3 aftermarket switches down there, fogs front and rear and one extra, all the illuminated rocker cheap type, I'll have to put a multimeter to it and then label them.

Thanks

Any ideas on the wipers folks?

the wiper self park it might be the motor but there is a screw adjuster on the motor it could be that or its just worn also i just found out as mine was doing the same thing ever time u turn it off it just stop also it could be a bad connection as i found this out as i only just done the job last week on mine as mine has never self parked since i had the car and thats been over 7 years good luck

Hi Whitewash

When you say the wipers work but don't park do they just stop mid-sweep when you turn them off then? The delay unit has been discussed elsewhere in the forum if you do a search. Usually they just need a good clean of the contacts and the little bit of foam/sponge in the end replacing. The delay not working could also be down to the wipers not parking. If the delay doesn't work at all ie the plunger just pops straight back out when you push it in by hand then the wiper mechanism in the motor does not operate for long enough to allow a full sweep on delay. It should still work ok on full though.

I appear to have missed out the small issue of the word 'maximum'

ok folks thanks for your help, i had a little look last week, the rear screen doesnt work because the terminal has come off of the screen so that is not too much of a problem!

RE: wipers
I have the linkage type wiper setup. and i cant find any sort of park adjustment for it (no knurled knob like on the R+P version) when viewed in situe) so how would I go about this. im guessing the delay isnt working because of the lack of park

Your car is late enough to perhaps have the electronic delay unit fitted. These are very rare and I defer to others who might know where to look and how to fix!
