Drivers door latch

Hi All
My drivers door has started to pop open to its first latch position whilst driving. I believe the flippy rotating thing is worn as its profile is different to the other doors. There are new old stock available for the other doors but not the drivers. Is it possible to repair, rebuild or adjust the part of the latch attached to the pillar?
Any advice appreciated.

I’ve never (yet) known a door latch to wear out, before searching for a replacement I’d go thorough all the adjustment procedures.

The latch on the pillar can cause problems, but that's normally the door bouncing back and not closing fully, rather than coming open after it's been closed properly. The pillar latch can be modified.

Hi Chaps, Thanks for the feedback. Spring still works well. Door shuts with a nice clunk just with gravity and sits flush to the body. It seems to pop open depending on the road surface, the more vibrations, the quicker it opens. Attached is a closer up photo and the rear door latch that has no wear. Have adjusted the pillar latch in and out. The further in it is, the sooner the door releases. If further out, the door will rattle a bit but still releases eventually. As you can see in the photo's it's rather worn hence the inquiry.

That is worn. Not that I’ve paid much attention, but I’ve never seen one worn like that before. Without the sharp edge I could see it bouncing open.

So I’m changing my opinion, you need a replacement. But I don’t think you need to find NOS, a good used would do. There are two flavours of latch, round lock & teardrop lock. The teardrop is 372359 for the right hand, 372360 for the left.

Always wanted another challenge. I've sent an email to my local Rover club to see if anyone has one laying around, here's hoping. I'm wondering if I could have the worn bit built up and grind it back to into shape. looks like aluminium to me.
Vern, round and teardrop? So my one is a teardrop, what does a round one look like? Are those used in an earlier car perhaps?
Cheers, Peter

The door key hole is round, not teardrop and has no cover. Functionally the latch is the same, the difference is the way the levers and rods inside the door attach to the latch. Round were used up to mid 1968 ish (NADA timing, probably 1967 for the local market)

If you can’t find one locally I’m sure I’ve got a good used one in a box somewhere.
