Doors back to metal

Hi.
the other day I started stripping the doors I have for a bare metal re-spray , As I started getting near the middle of the outer skin I noticed how deep the paint was there or some kind of filler material. I don't think the doors have ever been re-sprayed or repaired and was wondering is this normal and was part of the original body prep the doors went through? My concern is now that when I come to resparay the doors they might loose that slight edge that the trim sits upto.

It is about 4-5mm. I stopped as soon as i noticed it. I have about 6 Doors i have been hording and might look at the others to see how they are.

Hi, At this distance in time it's probably not the first time it's been bare metalled and/or repaired.

It will be filler, probably covering a decent dent at that thickness. If you want to use that panel you'll need to recreate the swage line with filler again once fully stripped. Much easier to just use an alternative door
