Door Rubber Installation

I was talking with a friend and fellow P6B owner yesterday on the above subject. There are two pieces, one fits in the channel that runs along the bottom of the base unit adjacent to the tread sill plate, while the other follows its own channel beginning and ending at each end of the aforementioned.

It is understood that this latter piece is just a long straight length. Therefore where the rubber meets and then turns through 90 degrees at the top of the 'B' pillar, is a cut made at this point and the pieces then rejoined via rubber welding or with the application of a suitable adhesive?

Cheers,
Ron.
