do i need a bush???

hi all i'm in process of cleaning up engine bay and noticed that there are a couple of rods running above the gearbox along the bulk head one of them is connected to the throttle linkage one end and goes through the bulkhead i'm assuming this is the gas peddle, where it enters it flopping around should there be a bush of some sort??? if so can anyone point me in the right direction so i can purchase one, what are these like to change ? at the moment i have no inlet or carbs in the way so now would seem the ideal time to sort it, regards wayne

Have a look at the illustration below:

Aceelerator & Linkage / Accelerator & Linkage (Manual).jpg

parts 6 & 9* go on the cross bar, and 25 & 35 (which are the same part) go on the horizontal linkage.

* It's possible, in fact likely, that these are the same part as well, but I can't be certain on that.
as always thanks for the reply looking at the diagram i would say it's no 7 that's the culprit grommet for cross shaft to bulkhead, does this need to be replaced or would it be ok as is, looks like it could be a ball ache to change unless i just cut the grommet and glue it

7 is just a grommet for where the linkage goes through the bulkhead. It usually rips and you get a draught inside the car, but it doesn't support the rod. A lot of people do cut and glue them as they are a bit of a pain to fit.
