Distributor Cam Springs

Hi, I've pulled apart my distributor to check, clean and lube and to replace my vac advance unit i bought from simonbbc, its a Lucas 35d8 (41317) on a 1970 rover 3500. I noticed the Cam springs are a different size, can anyone tell me if this is normal ? when i bought the car it had some small dizzy parts in a box in the boot, eg. 1 weight a adjuster spring, rubber boot and a few screws, i don't know if Ive even got the correct distributor for my car, or maybe someones messed with it in the past, is it important that they are the exact same size? another note is that my points deteriorate quickly, like pitting and the rotor end looks burnt. heres a pic of the cam springs...

2 stage mechanical system uses 2 different springs and (possibly) 2 different weights. Looks normal to me.
