Different manifolds

Hi,
I had to replace my original inlet manifold with another 2nd hand one. Stamp is 1979, so maybe from a Range or SD1.
On the carb tower the "new"manifold has two connections, one tube-socket, one threaded socket.
The original manifold has only one connection, a tube-socket. I think, the tube-sockets are the same, for the water heating/cooling of the Carb tower. But what purpose is the 2nd (larger) threaded socket ?
Photos show the old one, and the new one.DSC_Jun2016 (1) (28).JPG DSC_02601.JPG DSC_02611.JPG

Those fittings can be used for the diff lock on Land/Range Rovers and the Modulator on the GM180 gearbox fitted to the SD1. You don't need any of them so plug the holes in the front of the tower and the rear of the manifold with blanking plugs. You should have one on your old manifold, you just need to find another.
