Di-Dion Tube oil

Hello everybody hope you are all well.

Can anybody please tell me how much oil and what type to put in the Di-Dion tube.

Or is it like any other amount where you just fill the tube until it runs out of the Brass filler plug but to me that would seem rather a lot of oil.

Can anybody please advise me.

Kind regards

Gary.

Hi, It uses engine oil. Just put oil in to the level of the plug which is about 1/3 of a pint.
Or you could use grease which tends to not leak.

Don't use oil.
Update it as per later versions and smear the inner tube in grease.

Thanks Pilkie
Smearing the inner tube in grease sounds much better.
Will do thanks for your advice.

Hope to see you at Berkley Castle in 2016.

Kind regards

As Pilkie says, use a greased one. I obtained a greased one as part of my refurb, as I needed replacement de dion elbows. I got a really good de-dion setup from a later car, and have never regretted it. But its just as easy to grease up an oil type one. The de dion gaiters seem to last longer too, as less possibility of oil fouling.
