Dangerous stuff this driving lark!

I love the smell of screen wash too. According to a chemist on following link:-

"Instead, more volatile 'alcohols' such as Ethanol, Propanol and iso-Propanol would, I imagine, be used."

What I want to know, is why screenwash is so expensive? If it's just cheap alcohol/water/perfum? Have you noticed recently how difficult it is to buy concenrate screenwash and most car/supermarket shops now want to charge you about £5 for a litre of ready mix?

Up here we have the same situation, esp. at gas stations - £5-£7 for 4 litres - but at our no-name-brand car accessory supermarket they sell similar-size/price tubs of concentrate that lasts forever. Even Shell's little bottle of red liquid (called "clear view" in translation) is great value and works a treat as long as we're above zero degrees. Away with the premix product :D

Nice one, colnerov!!

All I do is mix a few tablespoons of dishwash in a cup with some warm water to dilute it and then toss it in the washer bottle and fill it up with water. Works a treat on the South African dirt and bugs etc, but not sure how it would do in the UK with freezing temps.

I remember my " little angel's " Nissan Micra - she never used the rear washer and it would block up .Pull the pipe off the jet , switch on the pump and some black slime would ouze out of the pipe followed by clear water

But what's the risk from having a shower ?
