crappy running carb when hot

One carb pulls smoothly when cold, but once the dashpot is warm it all goes to hell. I've made all the usual checks and everything seems OK, been experimenting w/different oil in the damper, no matter it still does it. (the other carb is fine) Help! The transporter is coming in 5 days to take my Rovers to their new life in Sedona, Arizona -

if one does it and one doesnt there must be something wrong with the physical carb or linkage....

I know it has to be something basic and obvious, but I'll be damned if I can see what.... everything was fine for years until I started messin' with the settings recently, as you do.....

Also, I've had the hardtop to my series III in my shed for about 10 yrs...... (been running it topless and keeping it in the garage) ...... one thing I never considered..... many generations of mice made their nests in the headlining..... the smell of mice urine (mouse urine) is damn near overpowering... (I'm gonna dismantle that hardtop and junk it once the truck gets there)....

Could one of the the carb pistons be sticking when everything warms up ? I'd remove the dashpot and spring and clean everything up. Then balance the carbs and set the mixture.

HIF6 carbs have a device in the float bowl which compensates for temperature changes by adjusting the mixture.
