Copper Coolant Hose Under Manifold - Bypass?

After putting my engine back together it looks like the copper hose under the manifold has corroded enough to spring a leak, I guess the removal and refitting disturbed it.

I'm reluctant to remove the manifold again so is it possible to bypass that with a length of heater hose from the heater top outlet back to the pump?
