converting to negative earth

Hi after some advise.

I have a series 1 1965 4 cylinder car which i am looking to convert to negative earth.

I know to change over polarity on the coil low tension leads, screen wash leads and clock (although clock is already shot). Are the wiper motors and heater blower polarity sensitive and if the blower is am i correct in assuming i need to remove the heater unit to get to the blower or is there an easier way to get to it.

With regard to flashing the dynamo is the small conector that is used to flash the field windings on the dynamo itself or do you use the control box mounted on the inner wing. If anyone can point me in the direction of photos of the contectors this would be a great help.

Thanks for any advise.

I'm not sure enough to answer the bit about the heater & wiper motors without having a good think about it my first thought was that they would run backwards  but then I thought what about the starter & something rings a bell about moving the brushes round to the alternative position in the motor but that could be absolute cobblers. I have a Wolseley 1885 which is positive earth but I'm reluctant to change it because nearly every other one you see has been done & mine is different

What I can tell you is to flash the dynamo itself with the control box disconnected

thanks for reminding me about the starter would not do to forget that one, dread to think what it would do to the engine trying to start it backwards although I dought the pre engage would fire which would have protected the engine. Thanks for the clarification on the dynamo. Not in any hurry to do this job and what to get all the wiring straight in my head before i touch any of it.

I've been thinking & I reckon most of the car should function the same & even if the wipers run backwards it doesn't matter if the heater sucks instead of blows then just reverse the wiring, the main trouble is fuel gauges don't always work even when wired up bacwards & rev counters aswell. Obviously anything to do with illumination will work fine, old fashioned radios often have a switch on the back to convert them but if not then you need a negative earth one, voltmeters work backwards so they just need swapped round & I dont think you even need to worry about the starter now that I've been thinking about it.
