I am having to get used to using a choke again, after many years, mine is difficult to lock in position. The knob turns, but not the shaft, which means that it just springs back in. It is sometimes possible to grasp the shaft & turn it sufficiently to hold, but not always. Even with the old clothes peg in place, it does not hold the choke far enough out to pull away, leading me to try holding it out, whilst balancing throttle & clutch & watching out for gaps in traffic. Would it be feasible to pull out the inner choke cable & replace it with a new one, without disturbing the outer cable, which sounds a bit of a faffy job. It would be good to dispose of the clothes peg, not an elegant solution for a Rover!
