Saw this site after being interested by the suggestion of changing the gearbox:

I dropped the owner a line and he replied with the following - thought you might find it some use:
Rich,
I haven’t produced any kits as such but have converted one of my Stags and, consequentially know what needs to be done in terms of Adaptor, Gearbox Mountings, Selector hardware etc. that would be common with the P6. The bits I haven’t thought about for your cars are Speedo (I’m going electronic in the Stags), Inhibitor & Reverse Light Switches (Micro switches off the selector lever), Propshaft (I had a new one made) and pipework for the cooler (easy stuff for a hydraulic shop).
I guess the way forward depends on how much work you guys want to do yourselves.
At the lowest level I could make a few adaptor plates and bolts and give you some instructions based on what I’ve done, £85-115 per set depending on how many want it.
I could supply a unit that I’ve stripped, inspected, replaced the suspect seals in and modified to suit the adaptor......about £200-£350 depending upon availability of suitable transmissions.
You’ll need to budget a further £180 or so for a new prop (or modify the existing one), £210 ish for an electronic speedo and the other bits to make it work and maybe £70 for inhibitor/reverse light parts and cooler pipework (assuming new).
All of the ZF units I’ve stripped have been excellent internally and the mods are an easy angle grinder and pistol drill job (although you do need a countersunk bit). However, you do need to get a mixture of parts from different ZF applications to do the job in the same way as I have.
Let me know what I can do for you.
