Changing oil in final drive

How important is it to change oil in final drive?
The filler plug is a bit wounded on my car, and also very hard to reach.
I tried loosen the drainer (just to look at colour of oil) and it looked fresh.
Shhould i bother with this or just drive on, i'm not making many miles/ season.

not a big problem, it will last much longer than the recommended change intervals, it's something that I would do every 5 years based on a small annual mileage of 3000 or so. The level is important tho'
