BW 35 valve body

The converter cheque valve (spring + ball) and throttle valve retainer are missing.
Does anyone know what impact do those missing valves have on box functioning a.o. gear shift: up/(kick)down ? (I never used this box)

The check valve missing will allow the converter to drain back, but they drain back through the check valve when fitted, and the cooler, a lot of the time anyway. I can't think how it would affect the function of the box otherwise. The position of the check valve in the valve block was altered from where it's shown in the WM if I remember correctly.

The throttle valve controls the shifts, so the retainer being missing could cause problems, the valve could end up in the wrong position for example, but as I've never experienced it I can't be any more specific than that.

Some early valve body,s ( non Rover ) did not have the throttle valve stop fitted, they are sometimes very badly worn and I guess then don't get refitted, they can also wear the separating plate in its worn state, later BW65 boxes used a different design which seats better than the 35 one.
You will need to check what valve body you have to ensure it is the right one for your car
