BW 35 air pressure test

While air pressure testing the rear clutch for mechanical operating I hear the thump of the rear clutch but also air escaping from somewhere under the rear clutch house.
Is this normal operating or an unwanted air leak ?
Appreciate to hear your suggestions.

Are you sure that it's not the air pressure escaping back past your blowgun nozzle. I don't hold constant pressure, just enough of a shot to be able to hear the clutch going on and then off again as I release the pressure.

If you have got a loss of pressure, from memory I'd say one of the sealing rings on the back of the drum could be damaged, but that's without the benefit of having a drum on front of me to look at.

Hi harvey
I did the same test after fully rebuilding my dads auto box last year and also could hear air escaping.
I checked and double checked everything again with no faults detected.
Gearbox works perfectly,i was wondering if air escapes through the one way valve in piston?
Perhaps when oil is under pressure it does not happen,is this possible?
clive.
