Bumper bolts

Can anyone tell me how many bolts hold the front bumper onto a series 2 3500 P6, including the numberplate plinth? Am i right in thinking the numberplate plinth is held on using the 2 middle mounts poking through the front valance?

Also, i need to know the thread sizes for all the bumper bolts, and lenghts if possible! I need to pick some up tomorrow after work from the nuts and bolts place, so i can bolt the front bumper onto the P6 im buying!

If anyone has the big thick workshop manual would it be in there?

Help! :D

Cheers,
Phil

4 bolts hold the bumper on.

Outers 5/16" UNF x 7/8" Long (2) With flat and spring washers.

Inners 3/8" UNF x 1" Long. (2) " " " " "

Are the larger ones the same for the outer bumper iron to the body of the car? As you have to remove 1 bumper Iron to take the bumper off, and this bolt is missing too!

Thanks,
Phil

If this is a V8 then there's absolutely no need to remove any of the irons to get the bumper off. Nor is there any need on the 2000/2200 either for that matter.

But if you need it, the bolt that holds the outer iron to the base unit is 3/8" UNF x 2 1/4" long, with a flat & spring washer.

Not meaning to be picky Harvey, but I think the fatter bolts go on the outside. :)

Not according to the parts book they don't! But having said that when I was writing it out I had my doubts over whether it was the right way or not, and it wouldn't surprise me if the book was wrong. Let's just say that if he buys those bolts, he'll soon work out which holes he's got to fit them in.
