I've go a bit of long-term project to deodorize my P6 as my wife hates the smell.
A big part of this is replacing the soundproofing materials such as the old jute and foam. Another part is removing the bitumen which is in the sound-deadening tiles, - this can be replaced by modern butyl products which don't smell. The old anti-vibration tiles of course don't actually work if they dry-out and come unstuck anyway.
The final part is replacing the bucketload of seam sealer which I assume is also bitumen based and is surely applied quickly in totally unnecessary quantities - surely it just needs to cover the seam to stop water getting in?
Anyway I need a reliable non-smelly sealer. I've read some bad stories so I'd appreciate a recommend.
Alternatively, would several thick-ish layers of epoxy paint along the seam do the same job?
