Hi All

Like many others my hydraulic brake switch has failed again,I had a spare but turned out the thread was wrong.Going to get one at the malvern meet this weekend.
I remember somewone saying they had done a conversion to a switch that works off the pedal, Using a simple std button switch!
I think it was John Larkin!!
How did you do it,was it hard, easy, fiddly??
I am going to try to work out how to do it as a back up this year!
Cheers Dave

I did indeed change to a mechanical switch operated off the brake pedal. I got the switch from Holden UK (http://www.holden.co.uk/displayproducts ... t+Switches). My car is away until the end of January being straightened properly this time after my 2005 head-on collision with a Renault Clio (written off, unlike my Rover) so I can't check exactly which switch I bought, but it was one of the two with the long springs.

John Larkin.

Managed to find a guy selling them new at Malvern so I haggled the price and I got 3!!
I wasnt sure if the thread was correct,as I forgot to take one of the old ones to compare!
I have just fitted one,"5 min job!" and now have brake lights again! :D
I hope they last longer than the last one did!
When I see him again, and if he has any left, I am going to buy his complete stock,he had about 12 left,so I will do a deal :D
Now I can do a manual one on the pedal,as a back up or replacement.
