selling my rover 3500 as i'm looking to get another triumph (sorry but i prefer those)

the ex danny hopkins rover, now with a quiet engine and a fitted zf 4 speed auto.
taxed and mot'd till october, tax exempt as well
solid underneath but the panels do need a bit of work.

i've replaced the cam, followers, rockers and shafts. uprated oil pump. new u/j's on the driveshafts.

drives well, gearbox performs as it should do including lockup convertor.

asking £1500 but would consider a classic in part ex with cash either way(particularly triumphs but others considered)

its in blackpool lancs for viewings/test drives etc.

wow what a great looking p6.

hope she gets a good home.

ive a 3500s,and ive had my big triumphs before, and i kind of agree of your choice of going back to maybe a 2000/2500s/2.5pi.

mite be just me,but the triumphs are a sharper car in general, ride handling, fit and finish.

il keep my s,but i to will be buying a trummy before the summer. and chris witter does some lovely tuning items for the triumphs.

thanks for the comments.. :D

its a tough choice between the rover or triumph.... i guess this just doesnt float my boat as much as my old pi did, i really wish now i'd done what i set out to do with that.....put a rv8 in it

It's not too late....

i know, and oddly enough i just happen to know where there is a 4.0l v8 going spare and a t2000....... but i really should be sorting the daily cortina and herald out first.. but saying that since when has being sensible been any good?

so selling them will pay for any parts you need. Job done. That looks a great buy - wish i had £1500 or a car you'd be interested in :)

aah, dont put a rover v8 in a trummy, leave the sewing machine smooth triumph 6 pot in her rightful place  .

just my thrupence worth ther.

if you want rover v8,stick with the p6.

so you had a pi,ive had a few,the mk1 is the gem to have,150bhp and the classic 60' s jet age look 8)

hope you are getting calls for your good looking p6.

Uh-oh... I'm tempted!!!

Do you have any pictures of the interior we can see please?

Is the engine the original unit or a recon/replacement lump?

Many thanks in advnace...

interior pics, plenty more if you send me you email address....

would love to sell the 'tina and just waft around in this, but to use as a daily for me its just too expensive(works a 50 odd mile round trip)

putting a rv8 in a trummy is somthing i'd like to do,but only if the trummys engine is broke in the first place, 2 great sounds are a rv8 and a trummy 6 :D

still i may be up for swaps but no moderns please...

That's really lovely! I'd be tempted but for space issues, and nobody having bought the 800 yet. Very best of luck with the sale! :D

problem is everybody on here has rovers.... Have you tried on a triumph forum advertising for swapsies? :D

I took her gingerly up to 82 on the M55 then had a very pleasant drive through Preston on the A6 and rejoined the M61.

There was a smash at Eccles and it was crawling traffic through the Irwell Valley section of the M60 - it refused to overheat.

My last Series One V8 had a habit of overheating in slow traffic.

i'm very tempted.....but i made the mistake of taking the 'tina in for a pre-mot today, that will be the welder tied up for a while then
