Bought a new P5 the other day

hmmm the link should work, yep a nice wee P5 model.

Graeme PS I have been looking for a p6B model but the best I can find is a 1:43 scale die cast any larger ones out there? same goes for p5B's also

There have been some larger P6 models around but nothing new or easy to find anymore.

Apart from the Vanguards stuff, there were the '60s Corgis (also 1:43) Then some 1:24 (app) plastic friction drive ones by 'Lucky toys' made in China in the '60s and early '70s and some larger 1:18 (app) battery operated Chinese ones by 'OK toys' (also '60s) Also a company called 'Outhouse models' in the UK made some very nice resin 1:24 kitsets in the '90s. All of these can turn up on E-bay occasionally but they are VERY rare. There are also a few other models by smaller companys in 1:43 available in both plastic and diecast but most are not as good as the Vanguards, also some very nice railway scale models of the series 2 V8 in 1:76 scale (plastic) and series 1 2000 in N scale (diecast). Recently mentioned elsewhere on this forum is a new model of a Racing V8 in 1:32 scale (resin I think) for a slot car chassis. Plus I have seen a polycarbonate shell of a series 2 (saloon or estate) in 1:10 scale for an RC car chassis. Haven't really researched the P5s but I suspect there are less options available for them.

Thanks for that - I was the said 'Outhouse Models' - & made around 100 models, mostly sold as kits. There were a couple of unmade ones on ebay about 2 years ago (which fetched high prices :) ) & I have a couple left still to do.

These are made up examples:

Work, life, etc. got in the way (!) & I have no current plans to ressurect the moulds....

Hi Phil, that's a shame, I bought the NADA one off E-bay. Think I payed about 70 quid for it. :( I can't bring myself to assemble it yet because I dont want to stuff it up! I would have bought some off you years ago but could never find an E-mail address. If you ever do decide to ressurect the moulds though, my NADA saloon has become a NADA estate so I wouldn't mind a S1 v8 estate shell.

Thanks for your kind comments. Just take your time with assembly & it will come out fine.

As a note, I didn't do an estate kit (although I did a one-off 2000 estate) & will post a picture at some point soon if I can find it.
