Best leather redye product for P6 seats.

Evening all,

I want to recolour the Sandalwood seats in my car to match the original Buckskin-coloured doorcards, parcel shelves and other bits of trim in my interior. They're in pretty decent condition for their age, with a bit of cracking and scuffing here and there: typical of 40 year-old P6 seats really! I was wondering which kits give decent, successful results that other members are willing to recommend.

There seem to be 3 main contenders on the market (or certainly they're the only one's i've been looking at):
Liquid Leather - http://www.liquidleather.com/re-colouring.htm
Furniture Clinic - http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leathe ... ration.htm
and Liquid Dye on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ANY-MAKE-CAR-INTE ... _629wt_650

Each of them make big promises and seem to be fairly reasonably priced, but does anyone have experience at using them?

Obviously, we all have a list of preferences when it comes to these things (including scent, expense and ease of use), but my priorities are just the fundamentals really:
-Durability. Colour must stick tight and not crack, peel or rub off onto clothing. Car is a daily-driver.
-Appearance. Must be as close as possible to the original, natural, Connolly look, with all characterful creases. Not a 'painted over' look.
-Finish. Must look natural and be somewhere on the matt-satin scale. Definitely not gloss!

Has anybody used any of these products?
What would you recommend for the best??

Thanks Gents!

Hi

Or................

I am looking for a Sandalwood seat set so could buy yours and then you could buy a buckskin set! I have a black set which I did think about re-colouring but one of the companies' sites says you can only go from light-dark. So I don't know if you could go from Sandalwood to Buckskin?

Are they flat pleat or box-pleat? I have a Series 1 2000TC (1967) but don't mind too much about the exact originality. Are they in good condition?

Just an idea..........

I used a furniture clinic set to fix a worn seat bolster on my XJR. Although I wasn't doing any recolouring, it is the same kit that is supplied for recolouring. The colour match was excellent, and I found the kit very easy to use. The satin finish is a very good match for the the original factory leather finish, in this case late '90s Jag leather. So far, the finish seems to be very durable, nothing has rubbed off or worn. Be careful of applying too much of the products, as I found an excessive buildup will hide some of the definition of the leather texture.

I didn't bother with the compressed air cans or the basic airbrush they supply, as I already had a suitable compressor and airbrush. This made things much easier.

Having had successful results on the Jag, I'm going to get a bigger kit and do the interior of my P6 at some stage.
