Hi All.

I went to price some tyres yesterday for the Rover 2000sc and ive found a set of well known branded tyres, not one of the many budget or economy makes,in the original size at a very good price!!
Uniroyal Rallye R380 in 165/80/14 T for £170 a set of 4 fully fitted!
I have a set of 4 new 195/70x14 Dunlop SP Sports but they are spares for the V8,and possibly a bit big for the 2000 wheel.
You have to make sure that whatever the tyres you are getting are not van/caravan tyres,ie 8ply,as they can give a harsh ride and be noisy!
Now I was gonna get the same as I put on the V8 which are Kumho Solus, which are hard wearing and VERY quiet, but at the time they couldn't get me a price!"Link down".
Will see what else they can come up with on tues morn,as the Rover goes for its MOT on tuesday afternoon, but I think I will go with the Uniroyals!!!

We can also go for Barum Brillantis. I fitted four of these tyres to my car for 180 €, balance included.

Spain is definitely cheaper than England!

I bought a pair of those Uniroyals for the front of my 2000TC last year. I'm a little disappointed as they're wearing rather quicker than I'd expected.

Those Ralleye tyres are brilliant, they are a sull silica tyre, great for wet handling relativly quite and good on fuel economy too.

Are they wearing on the edge or in the middle?

Pretty evenly across. Tiny bit more at the outer edge suggesting I need to check the tracking, but not markedly so. I reckon they're about half worn and they were only fitted 8 months ago. 5,000 miles perhaps. Which, thinking about it, is bloody awful!

I'm getting four new tyres for my SC tomorrow, not absolutely sure as to which make to go for, though Michelins seem good value. Which makes would you recommend?
