Anyone know a good Ford forum??

Hi all,
anyone on here a member of a good Ford forum? I need some advise on a few issues that have arisen as part of the recommissioning of my Mk1 Mondeo TD. I've joined one (which I won't name) and have had absolutely no response to any posts so far (though I've managed to answer a few :) ). It seems to revolve around body kits etc more than technical issues. Maybe it's just a case that the Mondeo doesn't breakdown?

Think you've said it there  I've had my mk2 for almost 9 years and its still going strong and only cost me the usual running costs.

B.T.W think you will be hard pushed to find a forum as helpful and active as this one. I join another forum recently and it is nowhere near the same experiance as using this one. My hat goes off to everyone :p

I've been a member of the Ford Owners Club Forum for a couple of years now and found the guys there to be pretty helpful. Admittedly they mostly own modern (ish) Fords so I'm not sure how good they would be with a Mk 1 Mondeo. Might be worth a try if that's not the forum you've already tried unsuccessfully.

Gents,
thanks for all the suggestions! I'll check those out tonight. The forum I joined seemed to be the only one with a specific section catering for each revision of the Mondeo, broken down by subject in more or less the same way as this forum, however, activity seems quite low. Plenty of people seem to be reading posts but none seem to be answered (I felt bad and answered a few  ) even though alot of the issues should be very common place. I reakon I'd get more advice on my problems here  .

I must say mine was a good work horse, and I'm glad I've saved it! Even after 4.5 years of inactivity she fired up (after alot of cycles on the glow plugs! - one of the issues) and everything functioned as it should. I think it even sounded slightly less clattery than the Jag apart from the horrible noise from the alternator (not my week for those!). Just need to convence the other half now and get her ready for the test.

Hi, they are going through their banger stage so their numbers will get decimated.
The situation is not helped by the low value of cars and the high scrap value.

Sorry to be brutal!

A Mk1 Mondeo must nearly be a classic car - you don't see many around

Think my Mk2 ST24 will become a classic during my ownership with only 47800 miles from new and full history file to date ( I purchased it with 15500 miles)and it doesn't have that extra they all have...........Duck taped bumpers

she is mainly driven by my wife and gets its legs stretched when I have my go

Still a bit off as Colin says I guess, especially in the case of my TD estate (the ST 24 will be first 8) ) but I guess we'll wake up one morning and they will all have disappeared, just like the Sierra. When I finally let go of my Sierra a few months after buying the mondeo they seemed to vanish, infact I even got a few 'I used to have one of those' comments from other motorists before it's demise. To be honest I'd be tempted to keep my car in storage, it's been in the family since it was 10 months old so will be hard to let go.

Gents,
thanks for the suggestions.Work on the car has been on hold with the last few weeks while I sort out some other issues but I'll take a look at those before I get it moving again.

Dave
