Does anyone know what could be done / needs to be done to make my '71 2000 manual drive more smoothly / tightly? On the road it feels generally loose / sloppy and rattles, growns, squeaks etc when going over bumps, sleeping policemen, and when cornering. I think it's what is usually referred to as running gear / drive train wear, but am not sure exactly what could be replaced (ie bushes) to reduce the sloppiness, and tighten up the whole ride comfort. Dampers seem OK as it soaks up the bumps well, but there seems to be wear in the transmission / prop-shaft / drivetrain etc. A checklist of areas to eliminate would be very useful, as I will not be doing the work myself, so the more input I can have to the process diagnosis, the more I can provide pointers to whoever ultimately does the work.
